Yes. Trolmaster controls are originally developed to only work with HID ballast. Make sure you include their 0-10v adaptors when connecting with LEDs. Meanwhile, our fixtures can work with any control system that communicates with 0-10v dimming signal such as Trolmaster controllers or Growflux controllers.

Are Photobio fixtures passively or actively cooled?

Photobio fixtures use the latest passive cooling technology to reduce power consumption while keeping your fixture running cool. Passive cooling also helps minimize the need for cleaning loud fans.

Photobio fixtures are passively cooled. Photobio use architectural-grade aluminum heat sink construction to efficiently manage the heat dissipation without engaging any high-maintenance structures such as fans or liquid.

What is PAR?

PAR is photosynthetic active radiation. PAR light is the wavelengths of light within the visible range of 400 to 700 nanometers (nm) which drive photosynthesis.

PAR stands for Photosynthetic Active Radiation. PAR refers to the spectral range of 400 to 700 nanometers that plants respond actively to in the process of photosynthesis per the ANSI/ASABE S640 standard.

What is umol/J and why is it important?

Researchers and growers use Photosynthetic Photon Flux Density, better known as PPFD, to measure the photons that are actually hitting the plant. PPFD measures how many photons are hitting an area per second. PPFD is reported in micromoles per meter squared per second, or umol/m2/s, by using a quantum sensor to a spot measurement.

μmol/Joule is the unit of measurement for photon efficacy. It is important because it tells you how efficiently a grow light fixture is converting electrical energy into photons. It is a strong indicator of energy efficiency.

Do Photobio fixtures get hot?

Photobio fixtures use the latest passive cooling technology to reduce power consumption while keeping your fixture running cool. Please reference the product specification for operating conditions including minimum and maximum operating temperatures.

How do I clean my Photobio fixture?
